Clementine Vale began the cello at the age of five with her mother, who studied cello at the Royal Academy of music with Derek Simpson. Clementine Studied as a specialist musician at Wells Cathedral School, where she was principal cello in the Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. She entered many competitions for Cello performance at a young age, never failing to receive 1st prize. During her time at Wells, Clementine was chosen to represent the school at The Victorian College of Arts, Melbourne, Australia, where she performed Elgar cello concerto. She was a member of the National Childrens Chamber Orchestra for two years and the National Childrens Orchestra for 5 years and appeared as leader and co-leader. Clementine has played in masterclasses taken by Naomi Butterworth, Louise Hopkins, Josephine Knight, Erica Simpson, David Smith and David Strange and is currently studying with Joely Koos after being awarded a full scholarship to Trinity College of Music in 2004. Clementine was also a member of the Cavey piano quartet, who were invited to play at the prestigious Rochdale Music Festival to represent Wells Cathedral school. Since moving to London in 2004 Clementine has worked with the National Children's Orchestra, The Da Capo Foundation and the recipients of the Lewisham Film Initiative's 2006 Production Fund. She has played in weddings and functions from a young age and also enjoys arranging and session work. She has arranged music by the number 1 hit band "The Feeling" for the National Music Awards where Apollo Strings played, and was selected to appear along side Cirque du Soleil with Apollo Strings in Spain, 2007.
